Journey to Meet Persecuted Christians

NEW

Just days before Pastor Richard Wurmbrand was arrested by the Romanian secret police, he read that there were 366 instances in Scripture that would help Christians overcome fear — one for each day of the year, including leap year. This idea enhanced Richard's and his wife, Sabina’s, prayerful study of God’s Word and gave them strength to stand strong for Christ in the face of opposition, imprisonment and torture.

Featuring testimonies from Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand and other persecuted Christians from throughout history until today, Whom Shall I Fear? introduces 366 biblical passages that will take you beyond anxiety, doubt and fear, grounding your faith in God’s character as you live obediently for Christ in the face of any opposition. (Hardcover, 478 pp.)

How can we be inspired by our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in countries where they face opposition from Islamic extremists? How can we pray for them? And what can we learn from them?

I Am N reminds us that we are each “n,” or ن, the Arabic letter radical Muslims use to identify followers of Jesus the Nazarene. Wherever we live, we can fellowship with those persecuted for their Christian witness — like those whose stories you will read in this book.

In this revised and updated edition, you will meet 52 Christians who were persecuted for their faithful witness in countries where they face Islamic extremists. Your faith will be deepened as you see how all believers are called to embrace Christ’s suffering. (Paperback, 328 pp.)

Our persecuted Christian family members follow the Lord with a bold and costly faith. They face oppression, imprisonment and even death for bearing witness to Christ. At Any Cost takes you to scenes of geographic majesty and beauty where our brothers and sisters are working to advance God’s eternal kingdom; these also happen to be the most difficult and dangerous places on earth to follow Christ. May this visual journey inspire you to grow in fellowship with them and deepen your commitment to Christ and his Great Commission — at any cost. (Hardcover, 249 pp.)

For more than 20 years, Todd Nettleton has traveled to restricted nations for VOM to meet men and women who boldly live out their Christian faith at great cost. In his new book, When Faith Is Forbidden: 40 Days on the Frontlines with Persecuted Christians, Todd invites you to travel with him to meet these bold believers and hear their stories. Each stop on the journey will challenge you to reflect on your own walk with Christ along the sometimes difficult path toward our heavenly home. (Hardcover, 271 pp.)

On Dec. 10, 2015, Petr Jasek arrived at the airport in Khartoum, Sudan, for his return flight home to the Czech Republic. But before he could board his flight, he was summoned by Sudanese security for questioning about his activities in the country — activities that, if disclosed, would endanger the persecuted Christians with whom he had met. As the questions continued and he was taken into custody, Petr realized he would not be returning to his family anytime soon.

Instead, Petr was sentenced to life in prison and forced to share a cell with ISIS terrorists — all for trying to help Christians who had been persecuted by Sudan’s government. In Imprisoned with ISIS, Petr shares the true story of how God gave him strength, courage and a new purpose during his 445-day imprisonment. (Hardcover, 224 pp.)

On Feb. 29, 1948, Richard Wurmbrand was arrested by the secret police. His crime? Leading Christian worship and witnessing — both of which were illegal under Romania’s atheistic Communist regime. Because of Richard’s faithfulness to Christ, he endured 14 years of prison and torture, while his wife, Sabina, suffered three years of forced labor and prison. Yet they emerged not with a bitter spirit but with a story of victorious faith. This biography explores the inspiring lives of Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand, combining their complete stories into a single volume for the first time. (Hardcover, 381 pp.)
